    My dad asked me today, if he spends the late summer in his property in Spain say 3 months and he flys back once a month to check and inspect would that be claimable?? I said yes can't see why not but then would the. Hmrc say from permanent residence?...

    Is this a rental property and does he report his income from it to HMRC?? 3 months for an inspection?? Once a month to check and inspect what?? - his rental properties in UK?? ?? Clearly cheaper to employ someone to do it here in UK. Can't see that standing up to a HMRC investigation.

    About to purchase a new main home for my family and going to buying cash to hopefully avoid stamp duty holiday expiry (it'll be below £500k).

    We won't have the time to sell our current home, and might want to keep it anyway as a BTL to add to our current portfolio which...

    I understand you have some time to reclaim if you do end up paying the 3% and later sell the extra house.

    Hi I currently have a accountant who I give all the receipts etc at the end of the year, I've been looking at the MTD and it says I have to do my bookkeeping every quarter to the Hmrc, I've looked at tax calc and it looks good.
    My question is do I still need the accountant? And can I still give...

    Hi, I work out total rents and put expenses into columns and he then fills out the SA and calcutes the tax and prepares accounts
    I suppose I could do that myself with software, just nervous about messing it up....
