on a similar vein, my wife has now finished work and will be 'running' the 4 rentals we have. is there a way in which she can also pay into the 'state' (other than income tax of course) to ensure she qualifies for the state pension. she has sent off an enquiry to the benefits office (or whatever its called) to find out how 'short' she is in making sure she has enough contributions. she is 52 and has worked mainly part time since her mid twenties, so we're hoping to make up any shortfall that might be required.
can someone point us in the right direction to find the info we might need?
