    CGT Advice

    Hope someone can help me on my first cgt calculation.

    Purchased property for 90k in October 2009 and moved in.
    Spent 12k on new kitchen, bathroom and heating system whilst living in property (always had intention of living there full time)
    Moved in with girlfriend in June 2011 and rented out property until sold in October 2012.
    Sold for 117k.

    Is this as simple as 117-12-90 = 15k?

    Read HS283 on the HMRC web site. You are exempt form CGT on your PPR for 36 months after you leave. So no CGT. Regards Peter
