Stamp duty for limited company purchase

    Hi,

Just wanted to confirm stamp duty within a limited company is same as if you were purchasing an additional property in your own name?

    Thanks

A limited company is a legal "person" in its own right, so the surcharge won't apply.
Obviously confirm that with your conveyancer!
When I post, I am expressing an opinion - feel free to disagree, I have been wrong before.
Please don't act on my suggestions without checking with a grown-up (ideally some kind of expert).

Companies buying residential property will generally pay SDLT at the higher rate.
