Selling residential property to move back home CGT?

    Hi,

I'm looking to sell my residential property and move back in with my parents. My property may have increased since i originally brought it. I don't plan on buying another property instead will be investing in to my limited company. Will i be subject to capital gains tax? or any other tax

Your main residence is not subject to CGT as it's not seen as capital..
When I post, I am expressing an opinion - feel free to disagree, I have been wrong before.
Please don't act on my suggestions without checking with a grown-up (ideally some kind of expert).

I agree - CGT not payable - unless you own other property and HMRC disagree as to which one is your residential property.

Agreed,no CGT unless you rented the "residential property" out at any time.
I am legally unqualified: If you need to rely on advice check it with a suitable authority - eg a solicitor specialising in landlord/tenant law...
