    F1 is back

Dum, da da da, da da da da da da, eeeeee wraw…….

The Chain sounds the same, but its the first time I have heard tyre squeal due to the new engines.

Between them and the new turbo "whine", its like listening to a driver racing a lawnmower while getting a filling.

    F1 is back sort of

Well with the disappointing noise of the lawnmower powered dentists drills that are F1 cars, I see that the Aussie GP organisers are thinking of suing F1 for breach of contract because the lack of the teeth rattling roar of the past, a key part of the experience.

I daresay the neighbours there and in Monaco might be happy, but it did sound and look like an Indy/Cart series race of the late 90's - but with car noses wearing novelty condoms

I now have visions of the Crazy Frog with a gag.

For TV observers, surely we now have the technology to digitally simulate the sounds through some sort of motion sensing on the camera. The computer can figure out where on the screen the car is and 'add' the effect. It could lead to hilarious consequences by adding different sounds (steam engine on the last car etc). It'll save a fortune in medical bills due to noise induced hearing loss for the guys on the ground.

One of my sons was out there working with one of the teams: (Not on the car side..). I'll ask him what he thought...

The Steptoe and Son theme tune might be appropriate for some drivers?

              Who do you mean?

Perhaps Lotus, who basically had their wheels fall off, or JB and Magnuson, and the age difference?
