The courts will decide if the notice is valid and if it is, they will have to award you possession.
They can't side with anyone, they have no choice in the matter.
    Such touching faith.

Are you are therefore suggesting that by a CP12 covering more than a service does (on a boiler not the whole central heating system) then all the Gas Safe Engineers are effectievly duping the customer out of monies by charging them separate for a service on top of the CP12 costs.....???
      I couldn't possibly comment.

However, on 22 May 2020 the Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee published a report recommending that once the courts re-open, they be given the discretion to dismiss Section 8 notices for rent arrears and Section 21 notices until 31 December 2020.“
That's just legitimising what they already do, isn't it?

You can't be legally evicted at the moment if you are in England (unless you're a trespasser).

All court sessions relating to repossession have been halted until June at the earliest and there is a huge backlog being created (which will take ages to clear because of the need for social distancing in courts).
That stay in possession hearings may be extended, so no one's scheduling anything.

So there can't be a possession hearing next week, full stop.
                  Err.. it is June.

OMG, this is funny.. Artful gives heartfelt advice, and o/p thinks he's taking the p*ss.

So sorry to read your story: Clearly your landlord is a disgrace to humanity who should be deported immediately (regardless of where he was born).

Write (yes WRITE! - keep copy..) to landlord about repair issues using draft letter in Shelter's guidance on reporting repairs here..
                    https://england.shelter.org.uk/housi...ivate_landlord
                    - which also gives guidance of what to do if landlord doesn't fix things..

& 'phone Shelter free Helpline 0808 800 4444 - they are the experts on these matters,

Do NOT leave: In your shoes I'd change the locks (keep old locks to change back when you eventually leave).

However this landlord clearly is not a decent one & if you can find somewhere else it might be bettter

                    Best wishes, hope things improve.

Artful: Landlord since 2000. & on benefits
Theartfullodger: your response and attitude is woeful. I didn't ask for sarcasm, I hate being in this situation and would do anything not to owe rent arrears or being evicted. No doubt you think I'm a benefit fraud and deserve everything I get. Corbin's benefit-scrounging scum? I'm not actually. I did everything I could to pay the rent for 10 years and be a good tenant despite these disrepair problems. So please jump down from your high horse. Not everyone is a tenant with no morals.

I'm still amazed at the number of people returning from "red countries" seemingly paying £2,300 to stay locked in a hotel room for 11 nights - why would they?

IF the Country I'd visited was, or moved to, a "red Country", I would be looking for a green or amber one which...

                                  A) i wouldn't be in a red country to begin with - they dont change to red overnight, so always time to get out.

                                  B) As above, why would you stay somewhere without being able to get a vaccination

I am one of the customers whose utility company has gone bust, so Im pretty sure my bills will be going up. I can afford this, but many people look on course for a difficult winter with a reduction of UC, increase in utility bills & food prices probably going up because of shortages & Brexit....

BTW, when a company like British Gas takes on an account, they're allowed to recoup the cost of migration (a few hundred pounds per customer) in their tariffs over the next months (from every customer, not just the one's being migrated), so it's very lucrative for them and adds more cost to the consumer...

The price of the raw materials have shot up and the consumer picks up the increased price.
The question is, does the government intervene to subsidise the consumer or does it let the market operate freely.
And if it does intervene, does it do it by running the utility companies or injecting...

Also Government should waive the 5% VAT and let the energy gas company keep it.

Much safer to get double vaccinated and stay at home. Save money to pay the gas bills.

BBC reported the Health Minister saying .- 99% of covid deaths in the first 6 months of 2021 were persons who were not vaccinated.
