I read this as 'Bastard Landlord'

Secondly, there is a potential argument that since the tiles are no longer in stock it is likely they were bought some time ago and therefore beyond their useful life.
I think some ancient Roman tiles are still in existence, aren't they?

and therefore it was not feasible to repair while we were still living
        Excuse for murdering tenants?

Was it there when you moved in?

but I live myself on the hedge zone 1-2
Presumably right in the centre there are less hedges?

It would be interesting to ignore the cause of the ire
I don't think this landlord is such a pussy.

I might as well just post straight into this thread.
When I post, I am expressing an opinion - feel free to disagree, I have been wrong before.
Please don't act on my suggestions without checking with a grown-up (ideally some kind of expert).

If they want to make any payment it should be described as mesne profit (pronounced "mean").
I guess it was a tenant who invented that pronunciation.

...with the possible exception of velvet loon pants..
Yep, I would definitely take exception to those.

The new s8 form use became mandatory from 6th April, along with dog microchips.
Mandatory microchips? Is that so you can track tenants down if they do a runner?

Ha! Is your objection aesthetic, financial or what?! I quite liked velvet loons in the 70s. We used to buy them from a long-defunct enterprise called Boodle-am in one of the arcades in Leeds - anyone remember it? It took several weeks' worth of wages as a Saturday girl in Woolworths to pay for one pair. There was something a bit decadent about them - last dying gasp of the hippy culture & all that. The main design drawback was that if the bottom hems got wet and muddy (inevitable in Leeds), they weighed a ton and you could hardly walk.

(And for the record, nukecad, my humour was conscious - or as conscious as it can be, in my present circumstances.)

                                Aesthetic mainly;

For nostalgia loon pants are OK, but velvet?

I remember in the 70's, as a teenager, having a pair of denim loon pants. We called those 'skinners' because as they flapped about they took the skin off you legs.
And yes I remember the weight when the bottoms got wet.
