Is it my responsibility to take care of the mice if they were here before I moved in?
Yes. See my post above about landlords supplying pets.

Friday Humor: How To Use A Fax Machine

Hilary Clinton keeps picking up the receiver on her fax machine when it rings instead of letting it answer itself:

        Over on MSE
        Gifting/Buying a proportion of my murder-in-law's house
Bit of a Freudian slip there...
I am legally unqualified: If you need to rely on advice check it with a suitable authority - eg a solicitor specialising in landlord/tenant law...

          From Landlordzone News:

All housing benefit tenants to pay "some" rent
LOL. They might be supposed to pay a top-up, but my beggars never bother.

Says the man presumably claiming tax relief on interest only mortgages? Unconscious humour eh?

59 out of 61 councillors in my authority are the same colour.
Hope you mean Tory Blue, Labour Red, etc., if not that could be seen as a bit UKIP.

I've tried hovering at night but woke up and annoyed my neighbours with the noise.
Maybe take your helicopter to another town?

Landlords are now responsible for tenants' diets:

compounding this by failing to resolve an issue with the eating demonstrates this person should be disqualified from owning and renting the property.

If he no longer lives then it is no longer an AST.
Unless he's a zombie or renting a coffin?

Were there an OCD cleaning tenant who cleaned enthusiastically & returned the property in a far better state than when they moved in
Anyone ever come across one of them?

My Foster Sister would be (she privately rents back in our home town). She took the house she currently lives in when she needed a 3 bed in a particular area (kids schools) and it was MINGING when she moved in (but commensurately low rent). She's been there a few years now, rent still low-ish but the place is IMMACULATE. Landlord is lovely (the last tenants had trashed the place, and he was wanting to sell but rented to Foster Sis because they have a mutual friend who said she'd look after the place), sis has decorated to her taste (landlord paid for neutral carpets), and it's always immaculate - even when a horde of rampaging 9 year olds have been in and out!
