    Unconscious humour from posters

It seems to me there is a lot of unconscious humour here, the latest one for me is...........

Hi. The S.21 is not valid for a number of reasons. I would be willing to sign a new AST with the prospective buyer. I suppose they are just an unknown quandary at the moment.
Of course I know what he means but his brain seems to be running faster than his typing

Can I suggest that we post them here when we spot them.

Could the guy be using type-talk? I get the impression one or two prolific posters on here do, when they come up with similar mistakes.

Sorry, I dunno what type-talk is. Is it for blind people?

I do know one completely blind man that has his computer read his emails aloud to him, he has the speech running so fast that I cannot understand a word of it. His typing skills are phenomenal as well.

I may have used the wrong term, but I meant a program that types what is said into a microphone.

              Here's one I enjoyed today:

"Forget the advice about needing a "reasonable" amount of time to look at the contract, and have it looked by a third party. It's a phallacy."

Although it certainly wasn't a laughing matter for the OP in another thread about LL not doing repairs, the 'leek in the bedroom' which brought the ceiling down made me smile. Must have been some leek.

I also liked the idea of a 'Signed Afadavid'. (What you do with the other afa the david wasn't made clear).
'Pause you who read this, and think for a moment of the long chain of iron or gold, of thorns or flowers, that would never have bound you, but for the formation fo the first link on one memorable day'. Charles Dickens, Great Expectations

I think threads like this work best if the person making the mistake is not identified.

You can find many bad apples, but their is more good agents than rouge ones.
                      Priceless!!!

(Apart from the "interesting" Ingerlish/grammar/syntax..) I've this image of some regency dandy with rouged cheeks sitting in his wee letting agency waiting for that wonderful, hoped for, perfect tenant/landlord to walk through yon door..

Alternatively the poster may be referring to a particularly remarkable exemplar of "Cox's Orange Pippin.."

                      Cheers!

I was doing some voluntary work for a group trying to transfer off the council to a self managing organisation.

A scruffy dishevelled and smelly individual with a brillo pad beard joined meeting and no one knew where he lived, so the chair took him to one side to offer some help.

He replied that he was the council's housing officer.... !
Based on the information posted, I offer my thoughts.Any action you then take is your liability. While commending individual effort, there is no substitute for a thorough review of documents and facts by paid for professional advisers.

                              From one of today's threads:

Any chance of claiming any damages from the landlord? My furniture and other staff now smells and the whole house will need a thorough cleaning.

I told him to make sure the staff take a shower and change their clothes.

You guys know I have been renovating a flat since March. The first month, I kept hearing a 'peep' noise every few minutes, so I bought a new battery for the mains linked smoke alarm. However, I still heard the 'peep' and came to the conculsion that it is next door's smoke alarm. Surprising, since the...

Has he considered using a dehumidifier? I switched my tumble dryer for one a few years ago, much more energy efficient plus useful for general humidity control during winter. My clothes will dry within 5-6 hours. My friend who rented a flat from me recently tells me he will not use the tumble drier, as it is very expensive, and will not put clothes out on the line as someone will steal them.

'No-one will steal your sh*t!' I told him.

Cats "soften" where they sleep with their claws.
You can't train them not to, and declawing is inhumane.

You can't fully house train cats or dogs.
You can be 99% confident, but once there's been an accident, that spot is then OK from then on.

You'll likely know better than most that - just like humans - cats and dogs vary as individuals. Just as some people will be hard to educate in school or work with, some pets will learn/behave better than others and no one say 100% that a cat or dog will or won't cause damage. Hence there will always...
