How to interpret gas safety certificate?

Had the annual gas safety inspection done last week. I have just received a copy of the certificate and it has identified two defects and there are two suggestions for remedial work (but one of which is to do with remedial work for something that hasn't been identified as a defect?).

I am not entirely sure what this means for me? It seems like all the appliances have been deemed safe to use, so are these remedial works essential or simply recommended?

I obviously do not want to put the tenants at risk, but the same engineer did our gas inspection last year when I still lived in the property myself and was getting ready to let it out. Last year he didn't identify any defects, so it feels a bit opportunistic that these issues have suddenly emerged...

Addition: In case it makes a difference, the property is in Scotland.
