    whole house anti surge protection

Ive asked our electrician to install over time to all lettings. Does anyone have a view on the better kit to use? He fsays he would favour supporting Hager or Wylex.

Wylex and Hager are both good quality manufacturers which will serve your needs perfectly. If you wanted something SPDs for something more complex such as buildings with Lightning Protection Systems someone like DEHN or Pheonix Contact would be more appropriate as they are specialists in the area. Glad to see a landlord taking surge seriously.

They are all pretty much the same, BUT remember that really only homes with overhead supplies really need SPDs

and it won’t protect you against surges coming from BT or your cable supplier either

More and more landlords' equipment (ie lighting/boilers) is at risk due to surges. Electrical supply is pretty stable in the UK (as compared to certain other countries) however it seems to me that with more and more strain on the grid surges are likely to be on the increase

That will explain why Ive seen surge protection devices made in Oldham Lancs purporting to protect surges by these means
