Reply to Virgin has damaged my propertyby LawcruncherI think it has to depend on the nature of the contract. What is relevant here is that the arrangement involves the grant of a right and you cannot grant a right if you have no power to grant it. The question is whether a covenant not to grant a right means you have no power to grant it. What cannot...

by bluebird2021Hi guys, last month Virgin came to one of my btl house installed cable. They haven't got my consent, my tenants gave them permission and they have no right to do so. Virgin came and drilled a hole on my water pipe, it has caused serious damage. At first Virgin said they will rectify everything but after...

I can only comment on the resentment you might find about being a very young landlord. I was relative to you older at 36, even when I let to other people I could tell the resentment they feel that someone the same age of them is in a position to own a property. I think you will get pushback from people...

I put a post on the forum page for Scotland the other day but didn’t get any replies unfortunately so really appreciate you both taking the time to respond. If they do revert to the normal notice periods, would we not need to give tenants notice that the rules for...

KTC,
Why do you think you'll get a mortgage when you're a student? Do you have a regular income to pay the mortgage in the absence of rent incoming?
My parents said they will sort out my mortgage because they decided support my decisions on the basis that I will pay them back...-

I read as much as I could on landlording basics and guides online and I also went over all of the tenant and landlord rights on gov.uk. are there any books that you would recommend? I understand that the current situation may not be the best time to let out due to the current restrictions set by the...
