by AliRazI believe we could only be classified as lodgers in case we shared some facilities, is that correct? We do not share anything as we are separated by the wooden wall from the rest of the house. We have our own entrance, too. Thank you for the advice!

To my mind it should be 6 years from when the overall tenancy ends (not any particular TA or SPT that is part of that overall tenancy)...-

by jpkeatesThere's no reason that the let isn't completely legal, it just isn't an assured tenancy (or, consequently an AST).
As far as I can see, the property you live in complies with the requirements for a dwelling house, and you have exclusive possession of it, so it's probably a tenancy, but....-
