Reply to Wanting a way Out. Need help!by ash72If your losing money, surely the answer would be to sell up then to carry on supporting a business which is costing you more money then it is returning and not providing an income would be the answer. With the money from the property being sold, you could move to a area/ country which is relative cheap...

by crutherfordWell I know this is a UK forum, but it is a popular one. So I thought I'd see if there's any advice here for a small landlord.
I'm in the U.S. I have worked all my life, saved my money, and spent the last 15 years of my working career 'contracting' or working temp jobs, which always ended up in...-

by ash72Usually when works are carried out by the council, and consent has been granted, any adaptions made to the property would be done at the cost by the LL, as the council don't come back and remove them.
I would strongly advise you to seek alternative accommodation so your not seeking it when...-

by LostAlienI live in England.
Hello, my landlord has been trying to evict us since we complained about housing disrepair to the council. Last year, before the complaint, our council's social care team offered to build a step to replace the loose bricks (literally) that was a makeshift step at the...-

by DoricPixieThe council should file the request in the round bin. If the landlord wants to demolish the work done by the council he can wait until you have vacated the property.

Reply to Wanting a way Out. Need help!by DoricPixieHave you been very unlucky or did you buy properties that only appeal to those on the lowest rungs of the housing ladder? I'm guessing it is the latter so would selling the current properties to purchase fewer properties in better areas an option which should in turn attract better tenants?

by DoricPixieI disagree with the letting agent about the Section 8 notice. If the tenants are two months in arrears it seems entirely appropriate to issue a Section 8 using ground 8. If that results in the council no longer helping the tenants that is not your problem. Your goal is to remove tenants who are not...

by freezing_syBasically council still have not found them the next house. I'm so desperate and need them go. What can I do please? They are foster family, apparently very volunerable as people may think. But they terribly damaged my house, they have also cancelled UC direct payment. I need them go......

by DoricPixieSpeak with the tenant first. Trying to increase the rent at the same time as serving notice to start the eviction process is likely to sour the relationship so I would just focus on working with the tenant to bring the tenancy to an end in the least stressful way possible....
