    The supreme court rejected the notion that courts need to consider proportionality when possession is sought by a private landlord in the same way that they do when it's sought by a social landlord:

    Nice to hear, but it won't stop leftie judges favouring tenants anyway.
    To save them chiming in, JPKeates, Theartfullodger, Boletus, Mindthegap, Macromia, Holy Cow & Ted.E.Bear think the opposite of me on almost every subject.

      Probably not, but along with the change that scrapped requirement for the notice to cover 2 full rent months and expire precisely after the last day of a rent period it should (hopefully!) mean there are less invalid notices being served by landlords that give judges a reason to throw the claim out.
