Peter Owen case

My letting agent has made mention of a Mr Peter Owen jailed for 2 yrs because his tenant died of carbon monoxide poisoning. Does anyone know about this incident and when it happened please?

Just enter "Peter Jones Monoxide" into a search engine and you will get all the information you need.

On some things I am very knowledgeable, on other things I am stupid. Trouble is, sometimes I discover that the former is the latter or vice versa, and I don't know this until later - maybe even much later. Because of the number of posts I have done, I am now a Senior Member. However, read anything I write with the above in mind.

Not sure anyone can provide much more feedback until you gets answers from the landlord.

With the pipe tight in against a stud they may have needed to open up further to find the fixings that allow them to loosen the pipe sufficiently to get a repair joint on. Looks like an awkward plasterboard...

I moved out of a flat a few days ago. While I was in the flat there was a leak due to a punctured pipe in a wall cavity that the landlord is claiming a deduction from our deposit for repairing.

The total cost being claimed is £492.50 for the plumber's work and £180 to repair the wall....

We have literally just relet our bungalow. The agent who handled the new let and the previous one, which only lasted a year due to the tenant having to go to a care home, asked for the initial inspection report from 10 years ago to apparently check against the new one done in May 21 . What is being described is not a contractual periodic tenancy, because in a contractual periodic tenancy the terms relating to ending the tenancy remain in force.

You are falling victim to the same English/legal terminology issue, where "tenancy" has two slightly different meanings,...

Hi, I have exchanged contracts on a house which I will buy with a buy-to-let mortgage.
The current owner has bought a new house of David Wilson's homes and they have taken his old house in exchange, which I now bought via them.
His new house is not yet finished, so he has to move somewhere...
