    How to advertise online?

    hi to everyone here

we recently bought a new apartment in Birmingham and I am now looking for ideas about how to advertise it online. I was thinking to create a website for that apartment with availability calendar, gallery, etc.. so is there anyone who can give an advice.

    Thanks

Wow! Thats quite an effort for 1 apartment! Have you tried the traditional routes of your own to let board, local agent, local rag etc...Why the rush to advertise online?

The problem with that approach is that fine, you set up a beautiful website at www.mynewapartment.co.uk - but how do you get prospective customers to find and view it?! Answer - you have to advertise that somewhere; so it's catch 22 really.

Either advertise through one of the established sites like rightmove, if you feel it's going to pay off, or use conventional routes like the local paper.

My own approach is that I do have my own registered domain name where I just put up a quick'n dirty resume of any property I'm advertising, along with photos... my main advert is about 30 words in the local paper, which includes the phrase "see photos at www.xxxxxxxxxxxx.co.uk". Seems to work OK.

        thanks for speedy reply friends.

Well, I have a friend who has a nice website with availability calendar, photo gallery and lots of information about his property in France. He told me that I can do a website and then advertise it online or offline (local agency, newspapers,...) so people can see all the details about my apartment.

So I was wondering if anyone of you worked with web design company. Thanks again

I just find it very odd that a new member of this forum ask's their first question along the lines of 'Does anyone know of any websites?' then, hey presto, they find a site doing just what they want and advertise this to others.

Why not just come out and say that you are connected with the site you are now trying to promote!

I see your point and admit that it makes sense, BUT (there is always BUT ) your assumption is not correct. Yes I am new and Yes I posted a website in my first post but I did not know that this is not allowed and I should not do it. I was just asking for an advice and looking at other forums and websites I found the link that I've posted. Anyway, thanks for your reply.

                    Online Booking System

                    Hi Dirkit,

You can use www.webreserv.com. It's a web-based booking system that can be used for vacation rentals, small businesses etc. There is a free listing as well as a paid listing with more features.

                    Cheers
                    Michelle

I'd check with your internet service provider as most offer free webhosting; i'm with Orange and have set up a site for my property. It was very easy to do. pictures, description etc and when i advertise elsewhere i also add "see further details at www......."

This is my first post so i had better be cautious! But, just to help, there is a free advertising site with photos, email etc at http://www.propertybugle.co.uk which does all of the above.

I only know about it because a friend advertised her house there and then recommended it to me.
