  • Question regarding Tenancy Deposit Scheme

I notice that the soon-to-be-introduced Tenancy Deposit Scheme applies only to ASTs.

Are there alternative forms of contract (other than AST) available for renting individual rooms as a non-resident landlord?

Whilst I fully intend to continue safeguarding my tenants' deposits I do not relish the additional bureaucracy that will be created by the new scheme.

Yes- Standard Assured Tenancies (see trillions of other TDS threads on the difference between SAT and AST).
