Filling N5b but Tenant has seperated from partner

    Hi guys!

My tenants rented the property from me in aug 2010 as a couple so i put both their names on the tenancy agreement and have renewed the agreement every 6 months. in aug 2011, the tenant advised that she had seperated from her partner, so i only put her name on the agreement from then on.

I have served a section 21 on the 15/10/2012 which expired 16/12/2012 and now I am filling in the N5B form but got a little stuck. The section 21 was addressed to only the tenant living there.

Now filling in the N5B form, do i write my aug 2010 tenancy agreement as the first? or aug 2011? also the tenant gave a deposit in the form of a council scheme, so i never received any cash; but how do i write that on the N5B form?

Thanks for your help in advance!

The first tenancy agreement for this tenancy is the 1st one in the name of the female only. The earlier male/female agreements were a different tenancy.

I presume the deposit was a kind of guarantee? If so, it doesn't need mentioning on the n5b.

      More importantly, a different "tenant".
Allow tenants to protect their own deposits. I want free money when they do it wrong
