Problem tenant changed the lock but need to enter his room

    Thank you Snorkerz, wasn't sure if this was the case if he moved into a new room in the same property, but just want to be seen as doing something as I know the tenant will claim disrepair on his room, but hes the one causing the damage.

      Understand you may want to be seen doing something - others may comment but I think if you 'allow' him to use another room as a temporary accommodation then you will be okay - you must just remember to continue to act as if the tenancy on the original room is ongoing - ie not move someone else in or prevent him accessing the room.

        It is a LLs resp to move T to equiv or better temp alternative accom, to undertake structural investigation or repairs which would render premises 'uninhabitable' for T, provided orig AST T&Cs and rent remain the same for temp accom. Stat Notices under orig AST can be served by either LL or T whilst in temp accom.
        The provision is, T is expected to return to orig property once work has been completed.
