    Attachment of earnings??

    Hi all,

I would really appreciate some more advice from you lovely helpful lot (i'm hoping flattery will get me some)!!

As thought, my previous T's have not paid by the date ordered on PO and MC. I sent them a letter outlining outstanding amount less deposit and suggesting they pay £100 pm to clear arrears (some hope)!!

I now intend to try for an AoE. I know their employers and have found out their new address. As they already have an AoE in place from the local council for council tax will I be able to consolidate or will my best option be to issue a separate AoE??

    Hi
Who did you use to find their employer, etc

My Letting Agenets had their employment details and I found their new address purely by chance - it's a small world sometimes!

Don't be surprised if they tell the court they are hard up and can only afford a minimal amount, such as £5 per week.
The advice I give should not be construed as a definitive answer, and is without prejudice or liability. You are advised to consult a specialist solicitor or other person of equal legal standing.

You can not tag onto the councils AoE, which is what you seem to be suggesting.

An AoE will cost you £100 and it is possible to have several running against one employment, but there is a limit (I think it's 3). As Paul_f says, if they already have one AoE going out, that will limit the amount of funds that can be allocated to you as (presumably) the council will have left the Ts with as little as possible to take home.

I think that if an AoE order is in place and another one gets set up, whatever's being deducted just gets split more ways; ie the council will find they get less money each month if the OP sets one up too.
