    Best of luck Marisol..

I think it highly unlikely current LL will contact new LL (if at all) certainly until you've moved into new property. I took up references some years ago & got a glowing ref (no, really, GLOWING..) from Landlady... tenants moved in (initially OK..)then 3 weeks later ex-landlady 'phones me & says how they were terrible tenants and left their old place in a right tip... funny that...

Current T has too much interest in getting you out...
I am legally unqualified: If you need to rely on advice check it with a suitable authority - eg a solicitor specialising in landlord/tenant law...

Thanks. You mean the LA can make a lot on fees to a new tenant here, and charging the landlords a finding fee or whatever you call it? Well no doubt they will be salivating over that!

The asking rent on this place has been bumped up again, to a level that I would call optimistic! Feel sorry for any prospective new tenants when they see the cracked tiles, shabby old carpets and peeling paint.

I wonder what was the point of your tenants' ex-landlady ringing you and dishing dirt AFTER they have moved in? What did you say to her and what did she hope to gain by it? Have you had any trouble with them? I don't get this!
