    Tenant taken belongings and left keys behind without notice

    Dear Forum,

    Thankfully a problem tenant has been witnessed via CCTV and other tenants on taking his belonging out of the property.

    He left his door open with keys on the table. I have tried to contact him by phone, but he is not answering, nor do I believe he will return to the property as the Police are wanting to speak to him.

    Can someone kindly give me the correct legal way in being able to rent out the room - I have placed a notice of abdonment on the door, and also the police have made a note on one of their visits that the room has no personal possessions.

    Could not agree more, but given the reluctance of the social sector to '' do the right thing'', we will always be in a battle to get them to house vulnerable people.

    The problem here is that the woman was not vulnerable and thus chose the private option. She is now in the wrong sector ,and the landlord is not trained to address such problems....
