How much notice from L to view my last place?

    Hey,

My contract is still being paid until the end of this month but I want to know how much notice my landlord has to give to me for people to come and view?

Its actually just a room in a shared house (2 actually).

I can't get to the house because the weather is really bad in northern ireland and just got a call from the agent.

Can someone tell me how much notice I need so I can try get to the house to get things moved out and tidy the place up in general?

    Thanks

    Are the premises:
    a. in Northern Ireland; and
    b. currently standing vacant (= no occupiers)?

      hey jeffrey,

      yes Im in NI.
I am still renting the place and still meant to be staying in there (I still have my things there but not living there simply because there is no heat, which is partly why I moved).
The other room is my girlfriends (She rents separate) and she is in czech republic until Friday, her things are all in her room.

Please do us all a big favour: remember to state (whenever you post re a property in NI) that NI law applies.
That may well save members telling you, unawares, what the law is in E&W!

I can only tell you the position in England/Wales. Notice provisions for LL access are usually in the tenancy contract; if not, then he should give 'reasonable' notice, e.g. 24 hours not 10 minutes. T has no obligation to keep the rental property tidy.

But it could be completely different under the law in N. Ireland.

            Thanks

I thought by saying about the weather in NI people would know I meant the property is in N.I. but I guess I could also just be saying I'm in NI.

I just want to make sure the place is ok so I get my deposit back, for me and my girlfriend. I don't want her losing hers as I have to do both rooms while shes away.
