    DPS discputed claims process - is this right?

    Tenant was 4 months in arrears when they left on Monday.
    I applied to the DPS for the whole deposit as obviously this would go towards some of the unpaid rent. Bizarrely the tenant has rejected it - I can't see how but he has.

    The DPS has advised me to initiate the repayment again which I have done, but it seems to have put the whole thing back to square one again and there is now no record of a dispute. It said I would be asked if I want to use the ADR service but there was no such option. I assume the tenant will again reject the claim so is this going to go on forever?!

    FAQs really don't help either.

    DPS suggests making direct contact with the tenant - yes of course, easily done when they don't leave a forwarding address, their phone is disconnected and they don't reply to email....
