    Managing my own BTL property

    Hi there,
    Apologies if this has already been covered, but I couldn't find it as a forum topic. I've been really unhappy with the service of the letting agency who've been paid to 'fully manage' my property, so am now set to manage the property myself. I'm not looking to change the current tenants, who've been fine (although they're now on a 'rolling contract' rather than the 6-month agreement I originally asked the agency to secure). Just wondered if any other landlords could offer preliminary advice about taking on management - eg, commendable homecare plans, deposit and contract tips. My main concerns are obviously security and time issues (I work long hours). I understand that the tenants will have to supply written consent for their deposit to be transferred from the estate agency to a TDS I've set up, but would really appreciate any good suggestions to ensure that everything is properly established. Thanks!
