  • Evicting an unemployed tenant - Can I recover debt?

    Hi all

I am new to this forum and would like some help.

I am in the process of evicting the tenant from hell. The tenant is now unemployed and on benefits (as far as I know). Once I have got rid of her, is there any way I can sue her to recover the debt? I understand that I can't apply for an attachment of earnings. Is there any point in suing her if she has no money or property? Is there any other option open to me? I want to recover 6-months worth of rent and also the cost of repairing damage to the flat.

Would be grateful to hear from anyone who has been through this experience!

    Many thanks.

      Thanks.

      I have another question -

The TA is in one person's name, but she seems to have moved in her (adult) son - once I get a possession order, and possibly bailiff order, will they both be removed from the property??

Did she obtain consent from you (as L) to sharing possession?
