  • Possession granted at 3rd hearing hooray!!!

Yes I finally got my Possession order. This time round the tenant was represented by a solicitor from the local Housing Trust who produced a medical report and requested the tenant be given an extended period to vacate. The judge was not only unimpressed but he awarded me £750 in legal costs because the tenant had been "...inaccurate and obstructive in this matter." He owes me £5,000 in rent plus £750 in costs plus £25 a day until he leaves, plus interest plus plus plus. I shall be rich!!!

    Hooray for me.

PS He has agreed to pay the money owing at £3 a week so ya boo sucks to anyone who says BTL doesn't pay.

    I'm in the money
    I'm in the money

Don't be a party pooper Jeffrey. What possible reason could you have for thinking I won't get my £3 a week!

            Let's see.
            £5000 + £750 = £5750.
At £3 per week, that takes about 1917 weeks (= about 37 yrs.) to clear.
            37 yrs. @ £25 per day = £337,625 outstanding after the £5750 is cleared.
At £3 per week, that takes about 13505 weeks (= about 260 yrs.) to clear (assuming that he stays that long!)

That's brilliant...we'll all be there at the party with our Zimmers....I'll bring the crate of vodka the students left (by mistake? Said all the stuff they left could go to charity!)

Do you propose to invite the tenant?!!!!

Oh no that can't be right, I will be over three hundred years old before he has paid it all off.

Well you needn't think you're coming to the party now Jeffrey!

Well done! It's nice to hear something good about our legal system.
Awarding interest payments was a particularly generous gesture. I think £3 per week on £5750 is a wopping 2.8%. Lucky you.
