Deposit protection on tenancy renewal?
Please everybody, could we have a reasoned discussion about this subject, particularly in regard to the 'renewal scenario' that seems to wind people up. I, for one, want to learn what is or is not permissible. Is there anyone who works for these schemes who would like to post? Anybody else with inside knowledge?Tags: None

by EtsiraveI think there are disingenuous arguments on both sides of this debate.
Rent (Price) controls don't work - the history of economics is pretty clear on this. Eviction bans seem unfair because they will be taken advantage of by a certain class of tenant to run up debt which will never be repaid...-

If you think that paying the tax due on having a second lodger is not worth the hassle of having a second lodger then just have one. Once you have a second lodger you face...

by BingusHi Landlords!
I am purchasing a house with the intention to live in it and rent out two of the spare rooms. The house will be in my personal name (since it is valued at >500k and I am not interested in attracting ATED).
It seems that the most tax efficient way of renting...-
