Condensation / Black Mould -

I really like where I'm living as a rental tennant but there's an ongoing condensation issue in the bathroom. What's the best way to deal with it before escalating it?

Open windows a bit/trickle vents & put heating on low . Leave for 3 weeks, re-assess.

Windows and vents in the bathroom are open pretty much 24/7 - Have been wiping the spores off with a old towel / cleaning down the wall and drying it thoroughly as often as possible to stop it spreading but it just comes back every few weeks. This has been going on for months.

There may be an underlying issue, such as the grout in the bathroom may need redoing if it is cracked and allowing moisture to get in. Do not wipe it, as it will only spread further, you need to use something like a mould remover spray you can buy HG do a good one, as well as get a dehumidifier in there and use it after each shower/bath.

Thanks, i'll try both of those and see if I can get somewhere with it. Hadn't realised wiping it was bad so I'll avoid that in future.

Also try looking outside for any broken gutters or leaks onto the outside walls

You could get a dehumidifier. If you live alone maybe position it near the open bathroom door. You obviously can t plug it in the bathroom but maybe close but that depends on you living alone or with a close partner.

Where is the problem? If its the ceiling a remedy could be as simple as painting it with decent bathroom paint. Is there a working extractor fan? Need to know a bit more really.

Bleach is a cheap asset in these situations but if you are leaving the windows open and are still having the problem, that doesn’t sound good

Is this a cold bathroom?

You need heating as well as ventilation, the water has to get warm enough to evaporate from surfaces then it can vent out.

The physics here doesn't stand up. If the air is exchanging in the room every hour or so, where exactly is the water coming from to condense?
