I would be interested to know peoples view on data storage, currently I use proton mail and external hardrive I like something I can see in front of me and my hardrive is stored in the safe at all times.
Where do fellow landlords store data ?and is cloud storage a good ideal in these GDRP times.

If your hard drive is networked then you probably ought to encrypt/password protect any personal data.
These days most of my data is in the cloud on Google drive which ought to be fairly secure. I don't keep bank details for tenants so don't imagine I would be a prime target for hackers so I'm comfortable sensibly managing risk.
And registering with ICO.

We have a server, which is backed up twice daily to another server off site. Data backups are valid for two months before it starts to overwrite. So I can restore anything I delete by accident for two months.
we also use Google sheets, which we have found to be very good.
