Here is another bit of pending legislation/government spittle that has been ill thought through.
My kid has a tenancy which includes Council Tax and Energy as part of the rent. Her rent has gone up a lot as a result of increased cost of these inclusions.
Now after the fact the Chancellor grabs money and doles it out - first £150 back via Council tax, now £400 supposedly as a proposed energy bills rebate.
So who gets this cash? The landlord who is ultimately not paying for the energy or Council tax -- or the tenant?
Oh and a third of the population will get an extra £1000 or so of a free gift. Very nice, but what of all those who get left out and are far poorer than this third.
