    Threaten to reduce rent

    Hi

    my Tennent just move to into the house and now threaten to reduce rent as they like the house. They don't respond to any call or message

    I have to a few times to engage them F2F but there was no luck, They recently aks me to put carpet over the wooden step as its not safe...

    I have just spent a few hundred pounds getting them new furniture.

    Can I serve them section 8 on the count that they don't respond to any sort of communication, Phone, Email, Message, F2F, In addition, they have threatened to reduce rent

    They have signed 6 month AST contract

    Wow, ive never noticed someones English get worse over time.

    Your post in 2019 was readable - this one is not.
    My views are my own - you may not agree with them. I tend say things as I see them and I don't do "political correctness". Just because we may not agree you can still buy me a pint lol

      Have they ever not paid rent in full and on time? If not, wait and see.

      What exactly is he complaining about for his reasons, please?

      Unpaid rent is an expect risk for landlords. IMHO 7 months no rent needs to be finance planned for.. What were landlord references & credit checks like?

        The reason behind rent dispute

        On the day of viewing, we were told the property would be fully repainted. The gloss woodwork has not been painted. At the viewing, the previous tenants' belongings were everywhere so it was hard to see what the property actually looked like

                Tenant is spelled this way.

                Who (landlord, agent, father Christmas?) said those things to tenant, please?

                Are those remarks by tenant correct? If so, why not sorted before move in, please.

                I ask again, his any rent not been paid in full and on time, please?

                  Sounds like the usual benefit swindle to me. (Make believe you're a single mum to get your rent paid, then move your partner in on the QT.)

                  Just a general observation, was no periodic inspections during the tenancy? Fine line between a T trying to fix things and messing it up and getting someone competent to do it right..... I know which I would prefer, on the cleaning side, I find that all T's are super excited to be moving into a place,...

                  Just had tenants move out of a property after 2 years. Always paid on time, perfectly pleasant young family who have now bought their own home BUT:

                  House was grimy - looks like they didn't clean properly in 2 years rather than anything overtly unpleasant

                  Sounds like they consider diy, cleaning and gardening beneath them. Many of my tenants feel the same.

                  My GF pointed out that certain tenants would have had servants in their home countries which they cannot afford here, so cleaning up their mess is left to us mugginses.
