    Wifes name not on tenancy

They are asking for a new tenancy to include wifes name for job centre. I do not want to start again. Would a note from me do ? The teancy says Mr x and family so wife is implied. Is jobcentre being difficult?

Please give EXACT wording of tenant. (Eg "Mr X". or "Mr X and family").

Don't think it's job centre, think it'll be housing element of UC.

You are perfectly entitled to do nothing and continue as periodic. But letter or other paperwork might help - being nice to tenants costs nothing and may garner gratitude.

Did you check right to rent for all over 18s?
I am legally unqualified: If you need to rely on advice check it with a suitable authority - eg a solicitor specialising in landlord/tenant law...

      Make no sense.

Anything jobcentre related would be applied for as a couple - married, in a civil partnership, or living as if they are married or in a civil partnership. Even if the UC housing element was paid directly, it is legally considered to discharge the partner's liability to paid rent (at least that was the case under HB, I don't see it not being so under UC).

They also don't need changes for the wife to have tenancy rights. So long as they're married, the wife have rights to live in any place the partner has a tenancy in their sole name to.
