    Royal Household tenancies

Never even heard of this until I read the article, https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...e-EVICTED.html, I'm sure there is some exaggeration in the reporting, but in if there is a Royal Household tenancies which are except, aren't we all meant to be in the same boat?

Oh, well as the Queen is ultimately the landlord, she can do what she bl**dy well likes.

Prince Charles spouting his green nonsense seems even more of a jerk now, doesn't he?

It was theft, plain and simple. If they needed the electricity they should have asked first. and having been given permission, arranged for a qualified electrician to install the correct socket. They weren't given permission but went ahead anyway. If a tenant was stealing off me, I'd evict them too. If a tenant was messing about with the electricity in a dangerous way, I'd evict them. Who knows what they'd be up to next?

        From the article:
The couple received the eviction letter in October, which did not specify the reason for the eviction, but they suspect it is because they charged the car.
So they are just guessing that they have been kicked out because of their admitted illegal activity.

On the surface of it this sounds very unfair and over the top, it also makes a mockery of Charlies '' green '' credentials.

I wasn't looking at the green credential sides of the issue, or the theft, I was thinking more of how quickly they can get an eviction while the rest of will now have to wait a year or longer.

I live close to lots of Crown Estate (1 mile from Windsor Great Park). Crown estate is owned by the people, having been given to the state by George III in exchange for paying off his debts & getting a guaranteed large annual bung (initially civil list then sovereign grant, was 15% of CE profits bumped up to 25% by Gideon Osborne, yes the one who stuffed landlords over tax). Yet a certain family still continue to claim they own it, together with their excellently paid legal advisers.

From time to time Great Park advertises properties for rent. I emailed them a couple of times, asking for details (being bleedin' nosey). They are standard ASTs, but clearly falling out with the Crown Estate (chief ranger, a role in existence for over 1,000 years is Duke of Edinburgh...) is unwise: Powerful friends. Suspect they went knowing it was the prudent thing to do.

Two of my relatives have dined at Windsor Castle.

But yes, shouldn;t have "stolen" (abstracted) the leccy.
I am legally unqualified: If you need to rely on advice check it with a suitable authority - eg a solicitor specialising in landlord/tenant law...

I doubt it's an eviction. The media rarely use the correct term, particularly the rags. Most probably they received a notice seeking possession.
