Protection from eviction due to coronavirus... not so much

The draft has finally been published.... and it's a non-retroactive temproary extension of notice period to at least 3 months. Court shutting down is going to have more of an effect than notice extension.

    Good.

Tenants were taking the p*ss, if threads here are anything to go by.
To save them chiming in, JPKeates, Theartfullodger, Boletus, Mindthegap, Macromia, Holy Cow & Ted.E.Bear think the opposite of me on almost every subject.

Threads here are always the exceptions.
Normal life doesn't need a forum.
When I post, I am expressing an opinion - feel free to disagree, I have been wrong before.
Please don't act on my suggestions without checking with a grown-up (ideally some kind of expert).

Do tenant will owe rent. When this is all over and assuming you both survive sue him him for the money.

Depending how you feel no reference
I am legally unqualified: If you need to rely on advice check it with a suitable authority - eg a solicitor specialising in landlord/tenant law...

I don't think she cares about credit or a reference, will probably just beg to council when the baillifs finally turn up ( hopefully this year)
