Boris banning tenant evictions - My Dilemma (warning contains a rant)

Looks like Boris is banning tenant evictions because of the corona virus situation. Also I see wales is looking at council tax premiums on second homes empty homes, Id be surprised if boris didn't follow this or act before them. I read all kinds of anti landlord comments online, tenants rights everywhere, but not one word could I find about landlords rights who clearly have a limitless pit of money and never have to worry about supporting themselves or losing their own incomes. I'm trying not to rant honest. As a single property (my on home) landlord I've just had my tenants give notice and move out. My only income while I care for my elderly disabled dad has gone. I get no help from HMRC of course who continue to charge full council tax and are able to double it I hear if it stays empty. I have it on the market but this corona virus means that's highly unlikely. Re renting it doesn't work given ban of evicting risk, and removal of letting relief and various other recent changes, the risk is just to high for me. I can't move back in because i have no income to pay running costs. I can't work because of caring duties, and even if I could fit in a job what chances does a 60 year old have especially with the corona virus causing lay offs all over the place? The entire system is designed to take my flat from me it seems. ...OK rant finished.

Is there a landlord action /defence/support group out there??? I feel I'm being robbed by the government of my home and income.

Is anyone else in a similar situation?

    (and breathe)

    Voting history?
I am legally unqualified: If you need to rely on advice check it with a suitable authority - eg a solicitor specialising in landlord/tenant law...

I think most landlords would agree with the sentiments, but lets see the detail of the proposal first.

I'm just wondering how I apply for the £10,000 grant from the local council that's being made to small businesses who are suffering.

There are votes in landlord bashing. We are all evil rentiers, anyway, and should just meekly line up to be guillotined. It would solve the housing crisis at a stroke ...

... and before Artful asks me, no, I didn't.

The virus is going to close the court system soon, so any defended eviction isn't going to happen anyway.

I’m waiting to see the detail. I’ve just progressed to engaging a solicitor last week to try and ease out tenants that have stayed beyond their S21 date. Obviously, no-one will be going anywhere for the foreseeable, but I hope it isn’t just a blanket ban including evictions that are already ongoing.

Best get S21s out now then. Is this just going to be for private lets or council/housing associations etc?

I'd say it's too late now.

I've got tenants living in my former resi. They really are not looking after it - they are proper slobs and I'd love to see them gone!

If the courts are closed, who is going to decide which possessions are lawful or unlawful?

I've lost count of the various questions around "the tenancy has ended, can I change the locks?"

If I say I'm wanting to sell - nothing to do with cv.

Should be fine if you're selling with non paying tenants in situ.
Might be a problem if you want vacant possession.

No new evictions for three months.

No 'rent holiday' though, no stop on claiming for the money owed, and no moratorium on accrued arrears afterwards.
Happy enough with that in the circumstances.

                            Worst possible combination.

The tenants who've lost income/jobs need income to pay their rent / buy food / spend into the economy to stop other people losing their jobs.
Stopping them being evicted isn't anywhere near enough.

I can see this being another nail in the coffin of those who are on the fence on whether to sell or keep their BTL's. All Boris has said is that he will ban any evictions for 3 months, nothing about assisting the tenants to actually PAY THE RENT !.
