    Tenant gone missing

Does anyone have any advice, experience of this. My tenant has gone missing. They have now missed a months rent payment but had paid up till then. I have been to the flat, having sent notice that I was going, but no sign at all of them, lots of post, some marked urgent, including several utility and council tax bills. The neighbours say they haven't seen them for many months. I have phoned the police and told them I am concerned and left a note attached to the front door, asking them to contact me and saying I am concerned. I have both emailed and left messages on the answering machine for the last month and no response. What do I do if I can't find them, how do I deal with a person who is not there and not responding? If they have done a runner what do I do about reclaiming the flat?

Could you answer the questions that are here, please:

    It'll save some time!
When I post, I am expressing an opinion - feel free to disagree, I have been wrong before.
Please don't act on my suggestions without checking with a grown-up (ideally some kind of expert).

Could be prison, hospital, holiday, family crisis, MH issues...

Serve s8g10 TODAY! May "prompt" tenant. Yes, a valid s8g10 may be served if only 1p is underpaid for only 1 day.
I am legally unqualified: If you need to rely on advice check it with a suitable authority - eg a solicitor specialising in landlord/tenant law...
