    No.
    Any tenancy you create now is either for a fixed number of years or would be capable of being ended somehow (other than death)

    If it's an existing tenancy that began before 1989, it might be impossible for a landlord to end it without the tenant dying.
    When I post, I am expressing an opinion - feel free to disagree, I have been wrong before.
    Please don't act on my suggestions without checking with a grown-up (ideally some kind of expert).

      Yes, surely, if rent was low or high enough & agreement terms suitable.

      But for AST, no.
      I am legally unqualified: If you need to rely on advice check it with a suitable authority - eg a solicitor specialising in landlord/tenant law...
