    Slow build up of arrears - unpaid top ups

    My DSS tenant has housing benefit paid directly to my agent.
    She is currently not paying her top ups (£58 per month).
    It would take over a year before she owed 2 months and I had a guaranteed Section 8 claim (or worse, she could keep it just below 2 months' unpaid)
    We are trying to arrange payment schedule but I have little faith.
    Is it worth trying anything else?

      What is the rent?
      When is it due?
      What is the period?
      Is it payable in advance?

      e.g. Most tenancy agreements will have wording along the lines of "Rent payable monthly in advance £xxx "
      On some things I am very knowledgeable, on other things I am stupid. Trouble is, sometimes I discover that the former is the latter or vice versa, and I don't know this until later - maybe even much later. Because of the number of posts I have done, I am now a Senior Member. However, read anything I write with the above in mind.

        Rent is £390 per calendar month, payable in advance, on the 1st of the month

          Have you checked your contract? Mine says if they haven`t paid rent for two months or PART OF the rent then they have broken the terms of the contract
