    Private Landlord Rental Software

    Good afternoon all,

We have just recently sold our sales and letting business where we used CFP Winman for the property management/logging side of things. We will now be investing in our own additional BTL properties and are looking for a private landlord software package which will do a similar job, track rent payments/arrears, billing/contractors work sheets and ideally bank reconciliation etc. It must be Scottish related please. Any help or recommendations appreciated. Kind regards, AJ

How many properties do you/will you have?

Good morning and thank you for your reply. We will only have around 12 - 15 properties

I think you will find that most of the professional software will cost you time not save it. The data entry/management requirements are usually very high in order to produce a bunch of reports, 95% of which you will never use. With 12 to 15 properties a combination of Word, Excel and Outlook should do the job more efficiently, (other office suites are available).

Have you had a look at Arthuronline? Not 100% certain how cost effective it is, but a small agent I work with occasionally uses it and they think highly of it. Not sure it works seamlessly with emails though!

Thanks for the feedback guys. We worked with Excel etc etc early days when we had our agency which was fine, but there are definitely simpler more effective software options out there now for smaller LL. Will keep looking but appreciate your thoughts

              Contact SaL,
               ask them.
I am legally unqualified: If you need to rely on advice check it with a suitable authority - eg a solicitor specialising in landlord/tenant law...

All the ones I’ve had over the years would be overkill for what you need and wouldn’t be cost effective.

I too would go for a combination of excel, outlook, etc.

I assume you've already googled 'Landlord Software Scotland', there's plenty of hits.
Or are you looking for personal experience?

                  Here's a couple from a quick search:
                  https://www.propertyhawk.co.uk/landl...s-in-scotland/
                  https://www.propertyhawk.co.uk/free-landlord-software/

Review of LL managment software with some paid-for and some free recommendations:
                  https://www.propertyinvestmentprojec...h-is-the-best/

Most of the paid for stuff I saw has a trial period or at least a video demo.

                        Hello, please can anyone help?

I have been using CFP WinMan for 20 years and in the last few days have completely lost access owing to 'error code 0'.

The software will load to 40% before the error code comes up. I am aware that how far (% wise) the software loads is an indication of what the issue is.

We have plenty of back ups to restore from but I cannot remember how to do it and don't want to pay CFP Software around £400 for what will undoubtedly be a 30 second phone call.

Any help would be very much appreciated!!

                        Many thanks.
