Hi, I would really appreciate some advice. Tenant and guarantor are both going to court. Tenant is admitting the whole of the debt and the guarantor is defending the whole amount. Does anybody know where the the tenants liability ends and the guarantors starts? TIA

The guarantor's liability is defined by the guarantor's agreement that they signed.

From memory, the agreement you signed makes almost no sense at all.

If the tenant admits the debt and offers a payment plan, the liability would normally remain with the tenant, as they're going to meet the liability, albeit over time.

Please don't act on my suggestions without checking with a grown-up (ideally some kind of expert).
