commencement of lease date is wrong - what happens now

i have a local authority lease dated 18/02/07 with a commencement date of the same, however my flat was the second to be sold in the block with the first being in 1999. Surely the commencement date should be 1999 the same as my neighbours lease and the date of when the first property has been sold!?
What happens now, what will the council do. Will they have to do a deed of rectification and change the commencement date?

There is no requirement that all the long leases in the same block should provide for the same start date.

Your conveancing solicitor would have informed you before asking you to sign the sale contract.

Thanks, but I thought that local authority leases commencement date must all be 125 years from when the first flat is sold in the block so that they all end at the same time

If that is a rule I have never heard of it. It would be a bit of an unfair rule.
