Possibly a 'not to cause nuisance' clause or suchlike. If this is a converted block in which sound travels easily then laying wooden flooring would not be a nice thing to do especially as you seem to be aware there are imlications. Is there anyone above you for, as you don't want to set a precedent for this if there is.

Wood flooring - first floor flat

    Hi,

My lease is silent on the laying of wood flooring and does not stipulate carpet must be laid. The lease is also silent on alterations
Is this enough to allow me to lay it or are there any other pitfalls that could hold me in a breach ?

    Thanks
