    Title register

This may seem like a dumb question but I just want clarification... If a title held by the Land Registry states: Provider None, does this not mean there is no mortgage on that property i.e it has been bought cash.

I am a freeholder of a property and the leaseholder claims he has to make mortgage payments, whereas I was under the impression there was no mortgage provider as the title states.

Can anyone just clarify this for me so I dont think i'm going mad?

Have a look under the charges register as that is where the mortgagee will be noted.

It is possible that he has a private mortgage eg from a relative, who has not registered the charge.
Based on the information posted, I offer my thoughts.Any action you then take is your liability. While commending individual effort, there is no substitute for a thorough review of documents and facts by paid for professional advisers.
