Service charge statement

I have received a statement of account for service charges on my flat
There is only the amounts requested on the sheet.
Should I have some information of how the money is spent?

Have you just bought the flat ? You can ask for a copy of the service charge budget to show how the requested charge has been determined.

You should be supplied with a copy of the service charge account for last 12 month period ( if more than 4 flats in block, must be audited accounts).

I bought the flat in July 2011
I seem to recall during the purchase being told the service charges are demanded March and September
This is the first statement or indeed any paperwork about service charges I have received
There are 6 flats on the block
