Informal letter to Chancery St James

After approaching CSJ with regards to extending my lease, they responded quoting me in excess of 10k.

After taking advice from the The Leasehold Advisory Service I have decided to try and avoid initial legal costs by writing an informal letter to see if they will accept a lower offer.

However I have read somewhere that this might affect or stop a case going to a tribunial if things dont run smootly. Can anyone offer any advice with regards to this and also any disadvantages of this approach.

Sell shares in company owning freehold & right of first refusal

Hi - we are selling the shares in the Management company that owns the freehold on a building with 2 flats in the block.
Does this trigger any right of first refusal issues?
There will be no change in ownership of the freehold, just transfer of shares.

Hi - I am freeholder on building with 2 flats. The water meter for one of the flats is sited in a location not part of leasehold, nor communal space, nor public space (area owned by Freehold).

ah i understand, sorry for confusion. As far as I'm aware, there is absolutely no reason to let anyone representing another leaseholder into your apartment. are you obliged to? no.... will your claim hurt if you dont? almost certinaly not... As i understand it she is essentially challenging the survey...

Thank you for your response. Sorry if I didn't make myself clear but the freeholder has already sent a surveyor and they are satisfied that the leak has been caused from upstairs.

It's the leaseholder who wants to send their own surveyor or architect, and has refused to allow their insurance...
