    Landlord insurance

Hi, this may be an obvious question, but I own a share of the freehold in a Victorian house conversion. The split is 1/3 and 2/3 between the two freeholders. I have been sorting out the insurance and have billed the other freeholder for 2/3 but they say it should be 66%, which works out slightly cheaper. I would really appreciate some clarity on this matter. Thanks

It is usually stated in the lease what contribution the flat must pay to service charge account and building's insurance .

Quote EXACT wording of split in HIS lease please,
I am legally unqualified: If you need to rely on advice check it with a suitable authority - eg a solicitor specialising in landlord/tenant law...

Originally I had the entire freehold but this was split when I sold my flat. This lease says 66.66% as they have 2 floors. The basement lease, formed in 1984 says 1/3

When you send a bill to demand payment , you should state the exact amount you want .

Its no good to demand 66.66% and get paid 66%.
