    The insurance company won't cover the damage caused by water ingress because it appears to have been caused by faulty workmanship on the part of the developer. I am still trying to convince the director of the management company that the damage (both internal and external) caused by the leaking exterior wall is the landlord's responsibility. He now says that, if the cost of the works is to be paid for by the management company, this must be agreed by all the shareholders of the company. I disagree; the freeholder has a duty which it has failed to perform; it is not a matter for the other flat owners to vote on, ie to state whether or not the cost of the works should be paid for by the management company.
